Biosensors based on Nanophotonic devices

Biosensors using surface plasmon localization on gold nanoparticles:
Core-shell structures, made of silica nanoparticle core and gold nanoparticle shell on gold thin-film, were used to localize surface plasmon resonance. This technology was applied to develop integrated chip for detection of DNA, Protein, Antibody etc. Label free and high sensitivity detection was made possible by these chips. Bisensors based on nanopore array structure:
Optical property of the nanopores in porous alumina substrate, coated with thin film of gold, was successfully used for label free and high sensitive biosensing. Analytical Chemistry 79(5) 1855-1864(2007)
